Barracuda net
The structure of a generic gillnet is very simple: it is generally a rectangular net carrying plastic or cork floats in the upper part (cork file) and the weights (lead file) in the lower part. To be able to fish effectively a gillnet must remain well stretched vertically in water so the correct balance between the corkline and the lead file is essential. In the past, gillnets were mainly made of cotton; today, nylon is almost universal and has the advantage of being practically invisible in water.
